I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this before but I’m originally from Michigan.
There was a little company called Guess Jeans that was pretty popular when I was growing up. I worked for Guess during high school and on breaks while I was home from college.
It was a requirement that your Guess outfits had to coordinate! In the late 90s, Guess made jeans to span the rainbow. We were walking around looking exactly like a bag of skittles!
I guess you can take the girl out of Detroit but you can’t take the Detroit out of the girl.

I too am from Detroit and Guess was *everything*…I remember squeezing into the largest size jeans (that was still too small for me) and ending up losing skin on my thighs in the place where the crotch of the jeans failed to reach my anatomical crotch (they were THAT tight lol). I cared not because the most important thing was wearing some Guess jeans. heaven help.
